Results from the Cycle 4 Supplemental Call for Proposals

The JAO received 198 proposals requesting 4815 h of observing time on the 7-m Array in response to the Cycle 4 Supplemental Call for Proposals.  The proposals were reviewed by astronomers from Chile, ESO, JAO, NAOJ, and NRAO. The ALMA Observatory Scientist, the regional ALMA Program Scientists, and a Chilean representative reviewed the results, and after considering both the scientific rank and the share of time across regions, they forwarded a list of recommended proposals to the ALMA Director for approval.

Tables 1 and 2 summarize the proposals by scientific category and region, respectivelyA total of 32 proposals requesting 716 h were accepted and added to the 7-m Array observing queue for the remainder of Cycle 4. The amount of time allocated is less than the 800 hours anticipated in the Supplemental Call for Proposals since snowstorms at the ALMA site in late May and early June have adversely affected operations and thereby reduced the amount of time available for science observations
